few和little我们天天见到，但是很少深入思考。老师经常强调，few和little表示否定，a few和a little表示肯定。事实上，表示肯定的情况有很多，需要仔细体会。

（1）前面加the的情况。

The music will appeal to the few. 这种音乐将为少数人欣赏。

I gave him the little money that I had. 我把所有的钱都给了他。

（2）被every, other, some修饰时。

Every few weeks they got together. 他们每隔几周会聚一次。

Every little counts. 点点滴滴都很重要。

（3）被形容词性物主代词或名词所有格限定时。

His few friends often speak highly of him. 他仅有的那几个朋友经常赞扬他。

Jane&39;s little knowledge of French has helped her greatly. 简的那点法语知识对她帮助很大。

（4）受what限定时。

What little he said on the subject was full of wisdom. 就该问题他说的几句话充满了智慧。

（5）this, that, these, those修饰few时。

Those few books I read were written by a famous novelist. 我看的那几本书是著名小说家写的。

（6）序数词修饰few时。

Within the few hours, the fascists issued their orders to murder over the radio and television.

（7）受last, past, next, past限制时。

In the past few years, he lived a happy life. 在过去的几年里，他生活幸福。

最后，需要说明两点：一是作肯定是，表示的是“少，少量”，但却是肯定的意思；二是受到very修饰时，它依然是否定的，quite a few, some few都表示肯定。
