定冠词“the”用以特指人或事物，表示名词所指的人或事物是同类中的特定的一个，以别于同类中其他的人或事物。

可不可以用一个口诀把那些英语短语加定冠词和不加定冠词的英语词组背下来。答案是肯定的。

一、in+the +名词：特指这个位置动作，特指在名词的位置，强调在这个位置。

二、in +名词：泛指一个方式，泛指在名词这个地方做什么，强调做什么（既然是泛指，那就代表大多数）

注意：这里的名词指地点名词

in the hospital

根据第一条定律： in the+地点名词 特指在某个地方

hospital 医院，有 the 所以in the hospital 的意思就是在医院

in the hospital表示在某家具体医院里面，并不一定表示是生病了要住院，可能仅仅是去医院看病病人

in hospital

根据第二条定律：in+地点名词 泛指在某个地方干什么（泛指代表大多数）

hospital 医院，没有 the 所以in hospital 的意思就是在医院里干什么，对于大多人而言，去医院就是为了治病。

in hosptial 住院

对于这类有无定冠词的地点名词而言，加定冠词the的意思表示在某个位置，而不加定冠词the 表示在某个位置干什么。

in the class

in the class表示在某个(具体的)教室里面，

in class

in class表示在上课。

go to the school

go to the school表示去某个学校

go to school

go to school 表示去上学

at the table

at the table表示(坐)在餐桌子旁边，

at table

at table表示进餐的意思

at the school 与in the school 、at schoo与lin school

至于这几个的区别，众说纷纭。

有的人认为（网络上某些人是这么认为的）

有的人认为（网络上某些人是这么认为的）

in school“上学”指的就是“在学校里接受教育”的含义。

in the school “在学校”指的在学校任职和求学的人在学校

at school 中的at 表达的是“泛指整个校园的含义，它包括：操场、餐厅、自行车库和图书馆等，只要是属于学校的地方都涵盖在内。 在这个校园内所做的任何活动都可以用“at school”表达。

at the school 和上面相同但是这里特指某所学校

in the bed

in the bed表示在床上，在被窝里面

in bed

in bed表示躺在床上、卧病在床。

on the bed 和in the bed的区别

in 表示在被窝里（如图）

on表示在床上的物体，比如吉他。

go to the bed 和go to bed

go to the bed表示到某个(具体)的床边去，而go to bed表示上床睡觉。

go to the market和go to market

go to the market 表示去某个(具体的)市场， 而go to market表示去买菜。

at the sea

at the sea 表示在某个(具体的)海边

at sea

at sea表示航海的意思。

by the sea

by the sea表示在某个(具体的)海边

by sea

by sea表示乘船的意思。

keep the house

Keep the house表示呆在(具体的)房子里

keep house

keep house表示料理家务

on the fire

on the fire表示坐在某个(具体的)火炉旁边

on fire

on fire表示生火(做饭)的意思。
